EDVSA
operates as East Devon Council for
Voluntary Service (CVS) & East
Devon Volunteer Centre (VC). It is the local infrastructure organisation
for the Voluntary and
Community Sector.
EDVSA exists to support the growth and sustain the wellbeing of people and
places across East Devon. EDVSA does this by:
- Development
- of communities of many kinds - geographical, social, economic,
special needs, special interest.
- Regeneration
- of people and places- particularly those suffering from deprivation
/ exclusion / marginalisation.
It
is the place where strategies can be discussed, ideas bandied,
plans laid and action taken to foster a better life within the
town, villages, parishes and rural hinterlands of East Devon.
EDVSA
- works for
and with local people
- gives those
people and their communities a voice that is heard
- will find
meaningful work for volunteers, assists community groups in
the planning and execution of their projects
- provides
information and support to help reintegrate marginalised communities
- lobbies
at local, regional and national level on behalf of the sector
- is a networking
centre, because of its intimate knowledge of and daily contact
with the voluntary and community sector
Over
the next three years we will
- Move to
more central premises
- Establish
new projects to assist in carrying out its stated goals
- Develop
the skills of both staff and volunteers by fostering training
and development in all the senses of the word, supporting their
growth and nurturing
their
independent thinking.
